Indexing

I have been trying to Index a little bit more the past few weeks. I know that sometimes it can seem stressful to start indexing, especially if you have never learned how to before. I just know that by indexing we can really help move the work forward. I have a really strong testimony about the importance of indexing and family history work. I know that I really have not done a ton, but honestly, I know that every little bit helps. I have seen the blessing of being able to bring your own family names to the temple for baptisms for the dead. It is a really amazing experience to be able to do the work for your own ancestors. It is really cool to see that you are helping bring your own family together more!

I really want to encourage you to try and do just a little bit more indexing and family history work. It can really be an awesome experience. There are family history specialists in each stake that are willing to help you learn how to get started on your family history work (or help you remember how it works if you already know!)

Here are a few basic steps to indexing:

1) Go to https://familysearch.org/indexing/

2) scroll down and click on the tab that looks like this:
and says GET STARTED!

There it will show you how to download the program and how to get started and sign in!

It is actually quite simple! So go and give it a try! It will be worth your time! I promise!!
